That is what Clairière means — the place where light finds its way through the canopy and the ground remembers warmth. Where a path opens, and a story long kept in shadow steps forward to be seen. It is the idea every fragrance we make begins from.

Our roots

Northeast India holds hundreds of stories, carried by voice across generations long before they were ever written down. Clairière listens for them. We gather what the region has kept — its forests, its faiths, its songs — and return it as something you can wear close to the skin.

Why we exist

The folktales of Northeast India are more than stories. They are the shape of who we are — our culture, our heritage, the memory of where we come from. Too many of them live only in the voices of those old enough to remember, and risk fading with them. Clairière was made to keep them alive: to preserve them, to protect them, and to promote them — so the next generation knows its roots, and carries them forward to the one after that.

More than you've been told

The Northeast is one of the least-explored corners of India — and one of the most misread. It is too often reduced to a single idea, when the truth is far larger. Here are forests few have walked, cultures centuries deep, heritage carried with quiet pride, and folktales found nowhere else on earth. Through fragrance, we want to widen that frame — to invite the world to look again, and see just how much there really is.

Every fragrance begins as a tale. A folktale told low around a fire. The smell of rain arriving on a mountain trail. The shape of a character who refuses to be forgotten. We carry these into scent, so that a story you have only heard can suddenly be breathed.
